Main points of the text: Dialogue A 1. Lizzy is in her classroom. 主 + 系 + 表 这是主系表结构。后面的Today is the first day of the new term.一句也是。 2. She shares a desk with Wu Yong. share后为什么有s? 这句话是一般现在时态,句子主语she是第三人称单数, 所以谓语动词后要加s。 share sb. with sth. 意思是“与某人分享…”。 eg. “May I share your umbrella with you?” 3. the first day of the new term 新学期第一天 first 是序数词,前面要加定冠词the。 eg. the second term of the third school year 第三学年第二学期 the fourth concert of the National Day holiday 国庆假期的第四场音乐会 4. Now the two students are introducing themselves to each other 现在这两个学生正在做自我介绍。 这句话用的是现在进行时态。现在进行时由be动词加动词的现在分词形式(动词+ ing)构成,表达此时此刻或现阶段正在发生的动作。be的形式要随主语变化。 eg. 肯定句:Now she is introducing Professor Helen Waters to the students. 否定句:Now she isn’t introducing Professor Helen Waters to the students. 一般疑问句:Is she now introducing Professor Helen Waters to the students? Yes, she is. // No, she isn’t. 特殊疑问句:What is she doing? (就谓语提问) 5. I’m lucky to have you as my deskmate. Do you still remember this sentence是否还记得这句话: It is a pleasure for us to have her as our English teacher here. 这两句话是类似结构。 7. Please don’t hesitate to let me know whenever you need help. 如果你需要帮助请马上告诉我,不要客气。hesitate: 犹豫。 8. I will. 后面省略了let you know whenever I need help.
Dialogue B 1. Could I join the club? could 本是情态动词can的过去式,在这里它跟过去时态没有关系,意思还是“能,可以”,只是更客气。如果说Could you please就更为礼貌,如下文中陈先生说的:Could you please tell me something about yourself? would也是这样用法。 2. be in charge of 负责 eg. Wu Yong is in charge of the e-commerce class. 吴勇负责电子商务班。 3. I have to fill in the form and put into our file. have to 必须,不得不 注意它的否定式是not have to,而非have not to。 eg. They don’t have to watch the films. They watch the VCDs. 4. I’m an American. 已学过的常见国名及其词形变化:
5. cm厘米, 是 centimetre 的缩写。 kg公斤, 是kilogramme 的缩写 6. I … can run very fast. can 是情态动词,后面的动词必须用原形。 run 是动词,修饰动词的fast是副词, 它本身又被另一个副词very修饰。不同词性的词之间的修饰关系是有规则的,不能随意更改。 7. You really look like a qualified member. really 是副词,修饰谓语动词look;qualified 是形容词,修饰名词member。 look是连系动词,所以这句话是主系表结构。 Passage 1. I’d like to introduce myself. ’d 是 would 的缩略形式。had 也可以如此变化。 would like to 意为“想要”或“乐意”,是口语中极常用的表达法。 eg. What would you like, tea or coffee? I’d like you to meet my mother. 2. the States 美国人称自己的国家为the States,一般我们称之为 the United States或America,全称为 the United States of America,外交等正式场合才这样用。 3. Actually 一句说的是以前的事,所以用一般过去时态,动词用的是过去式: am — was move — moved 4. I’m perhaps a little bit overweight. 我可能有点超重。 沃特斯教授不愿意用fat(胖)这个词而用了overweight。 a little bit 是副词性质的短语,修饰形容词overweight。 5. I like Chinese culture so much that my hobbies are Chinese painting an Beijing Opera. 我酷爱中国文化,最大的爱好就是中国画和京剧。 外国人喜欢中国文化多出于猎奇心理,也有一些深入研究的。 so…that… 意为“如此…以致于…” eg. The laptop computer was so good that I didn’t believe my eyes. 这个笔记本电脑太好了,我简直不敢相信自己的眼睛。 6. …I’m also skilled in using chopsticks. 我用筷子也很熟练。 be skilled in sth./doing sth.是常用短语,意为“善于做某事,有某方面的技术”。其中in是介词,介词后面必须跟名词或名词性质的词组做宾语,如果跟的是动词, 必须在动词后加ing变成动名词,using就是这样来的。 eg. My grandfather is skilled in repairing bicycles. 我的外祖父会修自行车。 7. I would like to be your friends not only in class, but also after class. 我希望课上课下都做你们的朋友。 词组not only… but also…意为“不仅…而且…”。 8. Please call me Helen. 请叫我海伦吧。 call在这里意为“称呼”,是动词。它还当“打电话”讲。 eg. Please tell him that I called him. 请告诉他我给他打了电话。 call还是名词。如:a telephone call 一个电话(即一次通话) 这句话属于五种基本句型中的哪一种?
